| System and Technical Requirements and The Procedure for USU WebEvents |
To take part in USU WebEvents, all you need is a PC with Internet access and a telephone. After you register for a WebEvent, you will go through the following procedure:
1. You will receive a confirmation of participation by e-mail.
2. Our WebEvents take place using the "WebEx" platform. A few days before the WebEvent, we will send you an invitation by e-mail through WebEx. This e-mail will contain your access information (user login, meeting ID number and meeting password), the telephone number for dialing in as well as your participation code for the teleconference.
3. You do not have to install any programs to participate via WebEx. The only thing that will be launched is a "Meeting Manager." You can go here to test whether the Meeting Manager will run smoothly on your PC.
Important: Before dialing in through WebEx, make sure that the security settings for your Internet browser permit the use of ActiveX control elements; otherwise, you may have problems with your WebEx registration.
4. You should dial in to WebEx with your personal access data at least 5 minutes before the start of the WebEvent. You e-mail invitation will contain a hyperlink for direct access to the WebEx site.
5. Then dial the telephone number to participate in the teleconference. As soon as the moderator has logged on, the WebEvent can begin.
6. When the moderator starts the presentation, you will see the screen contents from the moderator's PC on your own screen so that you can follow along "live." The teleconference setup will enable you to hear what the moderator is saying and also allow you to ask questions. In this way, you have an opportunity to make your interactive contribution to the WebEvent.
