2015 The research unit Industrial Big Data wins important research and customer projects. Pink Elephant certifies the IT service management product suite Valuemation for 15 ITIL® processes – the highest standard internationally. The takeover of SecurIntegration means the company expands its portfolio in the product segment of software license management to include SAP license optimization.
2014 New key accounts in the U.S. generate a dynamic increase in foreign sales. USU’s subsidiary Aspera Technologies opens a second branch office in San Diego, California. A new research-related unit for the future topic of “industrial big data” is successfully established. The product innovation USU Smart Link meets with keen interest among customers.
2013 2013 was shaped by extensive forward-looking investments in product innovations and growing the workforce. In addition to the launch of the new application USU Service Manager, an agile planning and control instrument, expansion of USU’s subsidiary Aspera Technologies in the U.S. is a major milestone in the Group’s further internationalization.
2012 USU Celebrates 35 Years of Future-Readiness. With its individual, customized solutions and well-established standard software products for knowledge and IT management as well as innovations such as USU Service Intelligence, USU Lifebelt and USU KnowledgeScout, the USU Group has become one of Germany’s top 20 software developers and providers. Since the end of 2012, BIG Social Media GmbH (Berlin, Germany) has also been a member of the USU Group. USU's earnings and profits have been experiencing continuous growth.
2011 The USU Group sets a new sales and profits record in the company's history. By acquiring the majority share of the Swiss strategy consulting company USU Consulting GmbH (formerly: get IT Services) the company has expanded its portfolio with consulting services for all solutions relating to the topic of IT Service Management.
2010 The USU Group acquires a majority share of Aspera GmbH, a global leading special provider of software license management products. Valuemation 4 and USU KnowledgeCenter 5 herald the arrival of two new major product generations on the market.
2009 Despite the greatest global recession in the post-war period, the USU Group is able to grow its sales and significantly increase its operating profits. New clients in Italy, Austria and Switzerland also ensure growth in the underlying international market.
2008 US analysts from Forrester, Gartner and ECP single out USU products for Business Service Management in their global market studies. USU also establishes its presence in the Middle East with Saudi Arabian partners. KnowledgeCenter Express and Valuemation Express are new standard products for fast productive starts.
2007 USU celebrates its 30th anniversary since its founding. The USU systems for research and information provision have been grouped together in the product suite USU KnowledgeCenter. Thanks, for example, to the largest projects in IT Asset Management carried out throughout Europe, the USU Group achieves the best results in the company's history.
2006 With its takeover of LeuTek GmbH, USU completes its portfolio of offerings in the area of business services and now offers complete, overall IT Lifecycle Management from one source.
2005 USU Software AG pays its shareholders a special dividend. To expand the target market served by the USU Group AG as well as its portfolio of services, particularly in the area of IT controlling in the public sector and for SME’s, USU Software AG takes over OMEGA Software GmbH. The IT controlling area, newly augmented by the OMEGA portfolio, is renamed IT Management Solutions.
2004 The USU Group achieves a turnaround. Udo Strehl Private Equity GmbH, led by USU founder Udo Strehl, becomes the majority shareholder of USU Software AG. The Business Solutions area successfully launches the new Version 4 of USU KnowledgeMiner. The Valuemation product suite from the IT Controlling division successfully establishes itself on the market.
2003 USU Openshop AG is renamed USU Software AG, which takes over all shares of USU AG and integrates them in the USU Group. In a related move, USU AG company stock is removed from the stock exchange (delisted).
2002 In March, the merger of USU AG and OpenShop Holding AG to form the USU Openshop Group is completed. The Group’s parent company, OpenShop Holding AG, is renamed USU Openshop AG. The company realigns itself by concentrating on the independently operating core areas IT Controlling and Business Solutions. USU AG celebrates its 25th anniversary.
2001 First major contract awarded by Volkswagen AG for Knowledge Management.
Valuemation, a modern Java-based product platform, is developed in the IT Controlling business division.
2000 USU AG and OpenShop Holding AG make their initial public offerings (IPO) on the Frankfurt "New Market."
1999 The new and promising Knowledge Management division is formed.
1998 The two largest single orders in the history of the company are received: USU assumes the role of general contractor for the development of a new external sales system for the German building and loan association Schwäbisch Hall. Deutsche Telekom Computer Service Magdeburg GmbH (DeTeCSM) concludes a comprehensive product and consultancy contract with USU. Founding of OpenShop Holding AG.
1997 First internal solutions for Knowledge Management are developed.

1996 Conversion into a stock company (AG).

1995 Start of international sales of IT controlling products.

1993 Sales exceed 10 million German marks for the first time.

1992 The realignment of USU into a software developer and solutions provider is complete. USU’s new IT Controlling business area lets it open up and develop new markets.
1988 First software products released: standard products for IT controlling and the production industry. The company moves into its new headquarters in the Spitalhof in Möglingen, Germany.
1986 The decision is taken to follow a new business strategy: the company will no longer just be an IT service provider, but will become a full-service software integrator and a comprehensive source for software solutions, applications, services and support. The company now has 50 employees.
1977 Founding of the corporate consultancy company Udo Strehl Unternehmensberatung (USU) as a limited liability company.
